Not like the others

 Ever since birth,  Rose was never fully accepted by the other demons. Something about his hair being too vibrant, his eyes too bright, his kind and loving nature, it all made them hate him from the get-go.

 

The others always suspected he wasn't a full blooded demon, but there wasn't the human quality the other halflings had. So they hated him, because his strange appearance, because of the love he had for all things, because they didn't understand what he was. Hate was born out of fear... and out of suspicion...
