Taking a break

I thought that once I will be done with uni, with all the exams and my bachelor's thesis and getting into the English Software master program, I will be free and inspired to do things with my dolls.

I had these great plans that I will rewrite their stories, update some face ups, finish tattoos, sew, take photos and photo stories... yet the moment I was free I took a look at my dolls and felt nothing, no need to pick them up and do things with them. Sure I still find them beautiful, but I just don't feel like doing anything. I tried to take photos but it just didn't work.

So yesterday I unstrung all of them, put them and all their things in boxes and put them away.

I am taking a break from them, maybe that will help, maybe not.

A little update

I miss them so much. Taking my dolls and just doing things with them, but there have been some things that stopped me from doing so.
First is university. I am finishing this year, getting my engineer diploma.
Secondly all my characters are wrong, All of them without an exception, they started from something awesome and turned out so boring. And I don't have the time to fix this problem yet.

One more month and I can start from scratch. I can't wait!
Now back to learning 15 subjects from my final exam.

I have a plan!

I was listening to a beautiful instrumental song and suddenly it hit me! It hit me hard! Almost knocked my off my chair, but I am still at work so I can't act too crazy. I had a brilliant idea for a 1 minute long bjd music video. I am so excited to do it. It will be short and hopefully as dramatic as I picture it in my head.

Last time I made a bjd music video, it was a slight fail, but I love it anyway :))

It's been almost 3 years since then so I thought I'd give it another try. :D

Time to go home! Yaaaaay!!!

Chocolate

No MSC, loads of time to think.

This past weekend I wiped Rose's face up off, because it simply did not fit. He looked lovely, but he was not what I imagined him to be and did not fit one bit in the story that way. So I set everything up, ready to do his face up, but after the first coat of sealant the can went dry.
I have no more MSC.
So I unstrung him and put him in a box until I get more MSC.

 While going through my rather short wish list I realized I had, yet again, forgotten about all the heads in the box and how most of them need face ups. There is a problem, a huge one. Out of all my 12 dolls, only 2 have well defined, thought out characters, the rest, don't. They're either vague characters or just ideas.

So this weekend, since I will be without internet for about 36 hours while visiting my grandma, I will sit there with my brother and rethink everything and everyone and the whole story, everyone's back stories, drawings and doodles and a huge damn mess.

Perfectly unfinished

Despite having a temporary face up, unfinished tattoos, missing piercings and body blushing, wrong colored eyes, no clothes or shoes of his own... I still love how Tommy looks like. There is just something about him that I love a lot. He looks nothing like he did when I first got him. Have some random close ups of Tommy! :D

Wigs and cuts

I can't stand having my dolls wear the wigs I get them without styling them or cutting them somehow. I always need to get my fingers in those synthetic hair strands.
So these past weeks I have been working on making all my doll wigs fit their owner perfectly

My first victim was an old short black wig from DOD. I hated how it looked on the Ducan(only doll it fitted) so I took some of the strands of blue hair I took out of the evil Leeke wig, sewed them in and then took the scissors to it so I can make it fir Tommy's head.

My second victim was Vlad's Crobidoll wig. As much as I loved this wig, it didn't fit then character, it's was too puffy on the sides. So while watching some random show I started trimming the sides, now I can see his ears and piercings, it's not obvious in the photos I took tho.

I swear Vlad and Mischa can wear any wig that fits them and they still look good, and here I am struggling with the rest to find the perfect wig and make it look good on them.

A little update.

Despite being insanely creative these days and having ideas exploding out of my head, I was so lazy. I wasn't in the mood to draw, write or take and edit photos. I just managed to do small things here and there while watching Jericho and Six Feet Under.
Anyway, he's a little update on my crew.
Vlad - finally got his wig cut properly and I couldn't be more happy with how it looks, it's been bothering me for months, but I was afraid to ruin it. I also noticed a small chip in his face-up while staring at him up close one night, it's not really visible but I hope it won't get bigger, because I love his current face just too much.
Rose - still not happy with his face up, it doesn't really fit his character. I made him some clothes of his own so that makes me feel so much better about him. I also have to fix the neck mechanism I made for him because it's being weird, some hot glue should do the trick.
Tommy - because I was in a hurry when I "airbrushed" his face, it looks like he has pores, which I love. I have to finish his face up, but I like him as he is unfinished, he has this weird messy vibe to him and that fits just so perfectly.
Haruka - he's currently on Satoshi's body, wearing mismatched eyes (one is Damie's the other is random) and a wild blonde wig that for some reason looks right on him. I love having him on my desk looking constantly unimpressed and grumpy.
Mischa - he is complete, perfect in my eyes, he just needs clothes and shoes. He's sitting next to Haru on my desk to balance out the grumpiness.
Neia - I love to have him out so much, that stupid Leeke MSD wig looks good on him after I modified it, and I just love his little dradon feet and tail.
Damie - in the box of heads. Not sure whether or not he needs a new face up.
Satoshi - another complete doll, currently in the box of heads.
The rest of the heads are just chilling in the box... waiting for me to decide what I want to do with them, but right now I have absolutely no clue.

I love having my cute little blue dragon, he has such a soft and gentle feel to him. Neia is a simple characters that loves all things pretty such as jewelry, shinny stones, butterflies, flowers; there is no drama to him.

Something is not right...

Happy new year and all that jazz...

Today I wanted to do a nice little photo shoot with Neia, so I took his little head out of the box, his tail and the dragon legs... but something was weird. Even tho all the pieces have been stored in the same box, they all yellowed the same as the body that was outside, all except one. One of the dragon leg pieces is the same color as the first day I got it.
How is this normal? I would have understood if I got them at a different time. This is just too weird. Soom, what the heck is this?! 
This really annoys me!

I also took the scissors to the shitty blue Leeke wig. It was MSD sized, but too big for any of my MSDs, not to mention that every time I look at it I remember what made me never buy from Leeke ever again. Anyway, I made it fit Neia's tiny head. He looks really precious with it. I'll take photos of him tomorrow when I got light.
