1. How long have you been in the BJD hobby?
Since 2006-7...

2. How many dolls do you have at home?
6 whole dolls and 6 heads. I keep the heads away so it doesn't seem too many when I look at the ones that are out.

4. Which doll have you had the longest? How long has it been?
Satoshi, he was the first doll I got. He's been with me for 6 years.

5. Which doll is your favorite?
I realized I get more attached to the dolls I spend a lot of time modding and customizing. My current favorites are Vlad and Mischa, I always find myself taking photos of them and giving them loads of attention. It might also be because their characters are very dear to me.

6. Are you waiting on any dolls now? If yes, which one(s)?
Nope.

7. What is your grail doll?
I had 3, now just two are left: Delf Breakaway OE 05 and Super Gem Dia boy.

8. Did you learn to do something new because of this hobby? (e.g. photography, painting, sewing)
I got into photography because of this hobby and I also got better at painting, sculpting, sewing.

9. Have you made any friends you might otherwise not have because of this hobby?
Yup. I am as shy online as I am in real life and find it hard to just start talking to people, unless they start the conversation, but I made one of my best friends because of this hobby.

10. What are your doll plans for this coming year?
None. No more dolls for me until I move to a place with more space. No bodies, no heads! Just make clothes and figure out what to do with the heads.

 Ever since birth,  Rose was never fully accepted by the other demons. Something about his hair being too vibrant, his eyes too bright, his kind and loving nature, it all made them hate him from the get-go.

6 years later

I can't believe it's been 6 years since I got my first doll, a DOC Limited Elf Ivan, Satoshi.
I remember the day so clearly. My hands were shaking so badly, all photos I took turned out blurry, luckily I had two friends over and one took decent photos.
I've learn how to restring on him... the first time were a bloody disaster. I had to redo his face up twice because I needed him to be just right. He's got many chips and dents over the years, yet to me he is extremely precious.
Looking at him always brings a smile to my face.

He doesn't get enough attention, but I love both the character and doll so much. He is very special to me, so I decided to take some photos of him despite the fact that his eyes and wig are completely wrong and he has no body of his own.
Haruka is sad that he can't see either of his best friends right now so he just hangs around my room.

Pajamas

 Precious little Mischa. He loves to stay in bed, in his pajamas and daydream or spend his time listening to his favorite bands and "fangirl" over them. If it were after him he'd only wear pajamas and never leave the house.

Inspiration: Voodoo Doll by VIXX

This song... oh this lovely lovely song with it's amazing video.
When I saw the trailers I  knew this video will have loads of potential and my mind was blown. I love it! I can't even begin to explain how much I love it, the song, the more grotesque parts, the idea of having those gorgeous boys as voodoo dolls, the settings, even the girl is pretty and fits nicely with everything.

Rosei Posey's face up

I did a face up on him last week, but was busy and every time I had free time there was no decent light to take photos in. So here's a few photos of his face up. I love it loads but those eyes and wig bother me. I'll get him some decent in a few days.

Despite the lack of face up, wrong wig color and style, bad eyes and being loosely strung, I just can't help myself from taking photos of his cute face. And he looks so good with Vlad.

He finally arrived :D He looks so much better than in the sales photos. The body blush is lovely and the hands are so much cuter than Vlad's "heart attack" ones.
Anyway, on with the extremely short box opening, I was too excited to take many photos.

A new boy :D

While hunting for my holly grail doll, I stumbled on a modded vampire head of it. I didn't want that, but the price was ridiculous, head plus body at the price some ask just for the head.
I looked through the sales post, the owner was selling quite a few dolls at small prices due to moving. The more I looked at the cute little head with fangs the more it grew on me. There was another one... the holly grail of my holly grail dolls, but $280 I consider too much for a blank head, especially when there was one a month ago with a gorgeous face up selling for less.

It was decided, I was going to get that doll. A character was slowly forming for it.. I was going to PM that seller and get that doll, but then "I will not ship internationally." ruined my fantasy.

A week past and I kept going back to that sales thread, hoping for I don't know what. I really wanted it, it would fit perfectly next to my Vlad, so I PMed the seller asking if he would consider shipping internationally. After a few PMs the doll was mine :D
Yesterday it got shipped and I am sooooo excited.

It already traveled 291km in one day... only 8180km left to go. Can I still hope for it to arrive on Friday?

I can't wait to have him home! I am sooooo excited!I can't wait. The wait is killing me!!!

Wednesday edit: 2 PM, he arrived in Chicago last night and is now being processed. 8010 km away from me, that's a 12 hour long flight. I am still being positive (and extremely hopeful) about him arriving Friday.
Thursday edit: No update today TT_TT, he is not coming this week.

Traveling by human part 1

 Another random photo story with Damie, because I can and I love doing these silly little stories. Damie has been wanting to go with me everywhere, but I rather not have him with me at uni, because I wouldn't be able to pay attention to anything, but he keeps insisting. Luckily he is easily distracted.

Only in the dark...

While laying on the floor waiting for the laptop to turn on I noticed a nice spot under the chair where the light looked really nice, so I decided to just take some photos. It all started with Vlad, but then where he is trouble isn't far behind.
Proceed cautiously some very light BL and low quality photos, but they are cute together ☺

Honestly... I really ship these too, but their relationship doesn't go that far.

I shall post this here as well, since writing and thinking about it.
Last week I decided to end it all, and get the doll I've been wanting ever since I really got into this hobby, I missed out on so many chances to get it, but that's enough.
What I want is an unmodded opened eyed Delf Breakaway head from either 2005 or 2008. I don't care for face ups, but am willing to pay more if I love it. I am willing to pay 150-200$ + shipping for it, depending on the condition it's in.
I can't afford a full doll now :(
So if anyone knows of a nice Breakaway head out for sale please kindly direct me to that beautiful head :D

Weekend Modding

I spent all Saturday modding and painting and planing what to do with all my boys. And I am happy to say I got quite a few things done ☺

[Fsashion] Haruka's Style

Haruka... I always imagine complete darkness, black and blood red when I imagine him, but that's only because of his personality and weird powers, but he's not dark and scary at all... at least look wise.

Sharing

Three white MiniFee heads and just one body which I still have to finish modding. They share it right now, but it's actually Mischa's, since he is supposed to be the shortest out of the MSD crew.

I went to a little shop on my way home from work the other day, and found a cheap lion plushie for less than $2, old with threads sticking out in some places but just about Damie's size. So I made him a costume out of it.
There is a little tutorial after the other 3 images be be warned... a plushie was harmed, but it turned into a cute costume and backpack at least.

My vacation ended and I am back to work. Hello there inspiration! If only the weather was on my side, it's too humid to paint my dolls... I should stick to modding for now or try sewing some clothes since now I have a clear vision of my character's styles.
I got my Happy Camille order Friday and I'll make a review on the few wigs and eyes I got, which to my surprise were so much better than I expected.

[Fashion] Misha's Style

Mischa, Vlad's precious little brother, who doesn't wear jeans or any other sort of pants, just pajama bottoms, because when you spend a lot of time in the hospital or home in bed comfort maters the most. He wears scarves no mater how the weather is like and doesn't bother with accessories.

Damie, the manliest among men, the strongest among the titans, the giant amongst Kaijus.
This is his non-jumpsuit version of outfits, jumpsuits are for home.

The other girly boy, well more or less since he is genderless.
Neia is under the impression that if and outfit doesn't have flowers and lace in it, then it's a disaster.

I created some outfits for each season for all my "stable" character/dolls.
First off, Vlad. His style I love the most, I love his lack of interest in current fashion and how he would only wear what he likes and feel comfortable in no mater how it looks.

No more photos

 

The memory card of my camera broke one of its little legs so now it doesn't work anymore, so it needs fixing or replacing. So until that problem is fixed there will be no more photos, except for random phone photos.
When the problem will be fixed I'll continue with Damie's week.

I have a love-hate relationship with that blue Leeke wig, which is not for Vlad's head at all, but daaaamn it looks so good on him. The blue looks so lovely with the orange and pinks.

Half an hour late because I got lost after I took a friend home, I even left the town for a few minutes. I am so lost in space. 
 Vlad tends to be quite the loner, he doesn't have many friends, so he spends the breaks from classes alone with a book or sketching, ignoring people and being ignored.There are many stories I can write many stories about this, but it's late and I'm tired.
I really like how this turned out ☺

Phew I made it in time! 
Just these two photos today, it was raining when I got home so the light was horrible and I didn't have the necessary time and mood to bother with the lamps.
Despite being one of the brattiest person in my bunch... despite being mean and brutally honest, Vlad is an incredible older brother, he knows how to make Mischa's horrible nightmares go away, he's loving and caring and a lot of fun... only around his brothers.
